Meet the new motorola edge 40 neo, with Pantone™ Colors, IP68 & enhanced camera system

Today, Motorola introduces the motorola edge 40 neo, a device that embodies the edge family mission to  deliver cutting-edge technology to as many consumers as possible. The new edge 40 neo offers an elegant, thin design and on-trend color options curated by PANTONE™1 and sports an IP68 rating, so you can be sure that your new smartphone can withstand dust, dirt and sand, along with submersion in 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes2. On top of this, the new edge has a 50MP Ultra Pixel camera sensor with instant all-pixel focus technology and 16x faster low-light performance than its predecessor3 for unbelievable night time shots.

Continuing Motorola’s multi-year PANTONE partnership, the world leader in color selection and matching, the motorola edge 40 neo is the latest Motorola device featuring curated colors. Available in three shades, this device inspires individuality and encourages authenticity through these powerful hues: PANTONE Black Beauty, a deep black tone with a matte acrylic backing, and two vibrant options, PANTONE Soothing Sea, a light shade of cyan, and PANTONE Caneel Bay, a tone from the blue color family, that feature an extremely comfortable Vegan Leather finish.

The new motorola edge also has an ultra-thin body (7.79mm) and contoured endless edge design that makes it easy to hold, carry and fit in one’s pocket without being bulky. Plus, it’s equipped with IP68 underwater protection2 so consumers can focus on having fun, instead of worrying that their device is going to be damaged by water, dirt or dust.

Time of day is also not a concern with the 50MP Ultra Pixel camera on the motorola edge 40 neo. It’s the perfect device for night photography, capturing sharper, more vivid photos after dark – up to 16x faster than its predecessor3 – due to the improved Auto Night Vision. The 50MP Ultra Pixel camera uses 40% larger pixels than the previous generation so that it lets in more light4, improving image quality and creating vibrant photos both day and night. It also features OIS to keep shots steady and clear. Additionally, there’s a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens with Macro Vision to get varying fields of view and a 32MP selfie camera with quad pixel technology for vivid shots at all times.

Instantly powered, the motorola edge 40 neo features a massive 5000mAh battery and boasts 68W TurboPower™ fast charging, going from 0% to 50% in just 15 minutes5. This way, consumers can binge the latest TV shows, game with friends or scroll social media without worrying about battery life. Plus, there’s a 6.55” endless-edge pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate6 so that all of these activities and experiences look and feel great. Its curved edges give the device a borderless quality, creating an immersive viewing experience ideal for watching videos and movies. This design is complemented by a screen with 10-bit color and DCI-P3, offering over a billion colors that are more vibrant and up to cinematic standards. And with a 1300 nits peak brightness display, all content looks brighter and sharper, even when outdoors, so consumers don’t have to strain their eyes when looking at photos or videos.

Users can also get endless gaming anytime, anywhere with the MediaTek Dimensity 7030’s lightning-fast processor and 5G network connections7, providing greater bandwidth and lower latency. They can take full advantage of cloud gaming by using their phone as a hand-held console and achieve peak performance in a variety of games.

motorola edge 40 neo has power to be unleashed. With it, users will be able to expand their mobile experience to a TV or monitor8 for more immersive entertainment or increased productivity. And more, by connecting it with a PC,9 consumers can access their phone apps and PC files all on the same screen.  This includes sharing files and images between the two devices, using the high-res camera instead of the webcam, answering calls or responding messages directly from the PC.

motorola edge 40 neo is powered by Android 13 and offers a wide range of the latest security and software features that are continuously updated. This includes new Moto Secure enhancements that take existing protection to the next level:

  • Security scan: the ability to scan for threats and warn users on device firmware integrity, which is key to fixing vulnerabilities and strengthening the phone’s resistance over time.
  • Phishing detection: a software within the Moto Secure app that identifies and warns consumers about potential threats associated with suspicious links or websites before they even open the page.
