Availability & Pricing

In the U.S., the new motorola edge will be available universally unlocked at Best Buy, B&H Photo, Amazon.com and Motorola.com starting on September 2 (pre-sale: August 23). For a limited time, motorola edge will be available for $499.99 – that’s $200 off! Additionally, Verizon and Spectrum Mobile will offer the device in the coming months.

In Canada, the new motorola edge will be available starting October 1.

You’ll see a list of available external devices to connect with.Choose the display you want to connect to and tap Start Now. Once connected, the Ready For Experience Hub will automatically appear on your display.

A More Intuitive User Experience

We’ve continued to evolve the Ready For user experience so it’s easy to find and simple to use. You can now start your Ready For experience from quick settings.Simply tap the Ready For icon and instructions will appear to easily connect to a bigger screen. Navigate the Ready For platform with ease thanks to the new remote control feature. Switch from the trackpad to the new remote control, which has built-in air mouse capabilities and remote like buttons. But when it’s time to actually edit your content in those forums, people rely on the power of the PC applications and a bigger screen. Now with Ready For PC1, avoid the multiple step sharing process, and easily view and share your content to your PC to make your editing process simpler than ever. Even your phone notifications are easily accessible on one screen, no need to switch back and forth between devices or open unnecessary tabs.

To access Ready For PC, ensure your mobile device and PC share the same Wi-Fi network. Then simply download the Ready For assistant application on your Windows device from www.motorola.com/ready-for. Open the Ready For assistant and a QR code will appear. Scan the QR code from your Motorola smartphone and then your Ready For Mobile Desktop appears on your Windows screen.

On the go with no internet? No problem! Use your mobile phone’s data to connect to Ready For PC. From the Ready For Assistant application, click Share Mobile Data and connect your device via a USB-C.

And now, with the arrival of our new motorola edge family, we are also introducing an easy-to-use OEMConfig app – a device management plug-in that provides business customers with advanced features on our devices, such as

Ability to manage OS and SMR updates: Now IT admins can test software updates with in-house apps prior to installation.
Updates to network settings: Our latest network settings allow our customers to control which Wi-FI networks devices can use, which helps prevent malicious network attacks.
Ready For security: We’ve added the ability for our customers to control Ready For settings. This brings an additional layer of security to our Ready For platform, making it possible to allow or disallow certain functionalities, like Ready For PC or usage on external display, as well as customized screen timeouts to to protect against unauthorized access or simply to keep someone from looking at your screen if you step away.
Security Policy Management: Customers can also set specific security policies, including blocking factory reset and power off, to prevent unwanted users from bypassing company policies.

The Thinkshield for mobile OEMConfig app is available on the PlayStore and can be easily installed and used with EMMs (Enterprise Mobility Management), bringing advanced capabilities to manage Motorola devices. Motorola launches scanner in smartphone camera

Available for all moto g100 users, the new function lets the user digitize documents and convert them to Adobe® PDF files in just a few steps

Today, Motorola is excited to announce our newest camera function: Scanner Mode. Already available on our moto g100 devices, Scanner Mode makes it easy for you to digitize documents directly on your smartphone.

To use this resource, just open the camera application and swipe from right to left to access camera modes and choose Scanner mode in the “Photo” section. Then, point the camera at the item to be digitized, zoom in, if needed, and take the photo. After finishing the digitization, you can also adjust the contrast to improve visualization by selecting either “Original”, “Mono” or “Enhanced” and, if necessary, adjust the edges with your fingers by following the guidelines and clicking on “adjust”.

All the digitized files are automatically saved as a .jpg extension to facilitate sharing. The files can be accessed via the Google Photos App available on all Motorola smartphones. It is also possible to convert the digitized file to .pdf format. Just access Google Photos, select the image, drag it upwards with your finger to access image information, select “Print”, click on “Save as PDF” in “Select Printer” and click on “PDF” to save the file.

Made possible by Google Lens, another feature the Scanner mode offers is the option of copying text from an image. Just select the desired image, drag up with your finger to access information and click on “Copy Text”. Then, select the desired text and click on “Copy text”.

Scanner Mode will soon be offered on other Motorola devices.
