Motorola’s razr 5G named a Silver Award Winner of the 2021 Edison Awards

Today, we’re excited to announce that razr 5G has been recognized as a Silver Edison Award winner in the “Personal Technology: Design Enhancement” category. Named after Thomas Alva Edison, the Edison Awards have recognized and honored some of the most innovative new products, services, and business leaders in the world since 1987.

Developed with a design first philosophy based on addressing direct consumer feedback, razr 5G fundamentally changes the way users interact with their phone with features like its foldable, dual-screen design keeping users connected whether the device is opened or closed, enhanced capabilities on the Quick View Display, lighter construction and more advanced cameras.

“When we introduced razr in 2019, it disrupted the market as the world’s first flippable smartphone, catering to modern consumers who are looking for a balanced smartphone experience at the intersection of style-driven self-expression and cutting edge technology,” said Ruben Castano, Executive Director of Customer Experience at Motorola. “Now, with razr 5G, we’ve further refined and perfected the experience fitting more cutting-edge technology into an even sleeker form factor while prioritizing the features and experience our target consumer cares about most.”

Razr 5G was chosen as a 2021 Silver Edison Award winner by a panel of judges comprised of more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics.

“We were very impressed by the level of collaboration and discovery in this year’s entries,” said Edison Universe Executive Director Frank Bonafilia. “Somehow, while facing the unprecedented challenges of this global pandemic, companies around the world figured out how to work safely and smartly and still innovate at an award-winning level.”

Our priority is bringing the best experiences possible to end-users, and our close partnership with Google and tight integration with Google services speak to that commitment. On recent devices, you’ll see a refreshed organization in the moto app and a few new experiences that make your smartphone easier to use.

Earth Day 2021: Making smarter technology more sustainable

Each year, April 22 marks a world-wide commemoration that has become increasingly important to global citizens: Earth Day. At this time last year, we were all working remotely and canceling international travel amidst lockdowns. While 2020 was difficult, the halt in human activity also caused greenhouse gas emissions to plummet by 7% – the largest drop ever recorded. This glimpse of a greener planet showed us how impactful and interconnected our actions are. One year later, we must double down on our efforts to ensure a lasting, positive impact for future generations as we look to the future.

As a Lenovo company, we are always looking for opportunities to use smarter technology to drive meaningful environmental improvements, inside and outside of our business. To read more, view the full article on Lenovo StoryHub here.

In addition to the 108 MP ultra high-resolution sensor1, you can get creative with the 118º ultra-wide angle lens that fits 4x more of the scene into your frame to capture exactly what your eyes see, or the Macro Vision lens that brings you 4x closer to your subject than a regular lens so you unveil the tiniest details. You can also turn everyday photos into professional-looking portraits with the depth sensor. And take advantage of cool new camera features, like Dual Capture mode which lets you record using the rear and selfie cameras at the same time, showing both you and your subject so you can show both sides of one story at once.

No one likes stressing out about low battery, but with moto g60, a massive 6000 mAh battery has your back so you can put those worries behind you. With up to 54 hours of nonstop power3, not even the busiest work day or night out can stop you. When you’re ready to recharge, TurboPowerTM 20 gives you hours of power in just minutes of charging4 so you can refuel fast and get back to what matters.

The SnapdragonTM 732G renders graphics incredibly fast and powers the high-res camera system, so games look more realistic and photos are sharper than ever. Paired with 6 GB of RAM, you can move back and forth between apps in a snap. All of this speed is managed with remarkable power efficiency, so it won’t drain your battery life between charges.

Watch your favorite content come to life on a gorgeous 6.8″ Max Vision FHD+ display. Enjoy true-to-life colors and improved brightness and contrast with HDR10 compatibility. And as the first Motorola device with a 120 Hz refresh rate5, moto g60 is twice as smooth as typical smartphones so there’s hardly any lag scrolling through web pages, playing games, or watching videos.

All this power is backed by 128 GB of reliable built-in storage6, so you have tons of room for photos, movies, songs, apps, and games. And you can always add up to 1 TB more using a microSD card.6

elegantly crafted, inside and out

This device is thoughtfully designed and exquisitely crafted. Motorola celebrates its success in 5G, 48 years after making the world’s first portable cellular call

At Motorola, April 3rd is particularly significant. In the era of 5G, this is even more important – back in 2019, this was the day the moto z3 combined with the 5G moto modTM became the world’s first commercially available smartphone to connect to 5G network. On the same day in 1973, Motorola publicly demonstrated the world’s first portable cellular telephone and system, using a prototype of the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. From the first phone call to connecting consumers across the globe to the fastest 5G speeds1, we’ve been there every step of the way.

Over the past two years, we’ve continued our 5G innovation by introducing a number of mmWave and sub-6 5G capable devices around the world. Whether it is our motorola edge family, which delivers pure speed to the premium segment, or our more recent 5G additions like the moto g100 and moto g50 which reinforces our commitment to democratizing 5G with our most affordable 5G device yet – we recognize our role in pushing the adoption of 5G technology forward.

Today, we celebrate our success in the 5G space thus far – and our commitment to bringing the power of 5G into more consumers’ hands, no matter where they are.
