Motorola expands finding capabilities with moto tag, now featuring Ultra Wideband (UWB) for precise, nearby finding

Last summer, Motorola expanded its ecosystem of connected devices with the launch of moto tag, a sleek Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband (UWB)-enabled tracker designed to help users keep tabs on their most important belongings—anytime, anywhere.

With Google’s recent addition of UWB support to Find Hub, the moto tag is the first Find Hub compatible tag on the market to unlock this new era of spatial awareness and accuracy. When paired with compatible Android smartphones like the new razr 60 ultra/razr ultra and the motorola edge 50 ultra, users can take advantage of directional tracking that guides them to their tagged item with pinpoint precision, whether it’s hidden under a couch cushion or left behind at a café.1,4 This brings a new sense of confidence and control to users who rely on the moto tag to keep up with their valuables no matter where life takes them.

Built to work seamlessly with Google’s Find Hub network, a crowdsourced platform with over a billion Android devices globally, moto tag offers reliable location updates nearly anywhere in the world.¹ Whether it’s keys, a backpack, or checked luggage, moto tag delivers  peace of mind by letting users view their item’s crowdsourced location directly in the Find Hub app.

Moto tag also features a dedicated multifunctional button. A simple press rings the user’s smartphone, helping them easily find a misplaced device. Another useful function is the ability to use the tag as a remote to capture photos on a Motorola phone, making it easy to get the perfect shot without needing to hold the phone or use a timer. This feature works with any Android phone and is particularly useful when snapping photos with the new motorola razr family in flex view.¹

Privacy is top of mind with the moto tag. That’s why it works with the Find Hub network, which was built by Google as protected by default and private by design. Device location data is end-to-end encrypted, which means only the tag owner or anyone with whom the owner has shared the tag within Find Hub can view the tag’s location. Leaning on Google’s expertise in privacy and security, the moto tag is also compatible with automatic unknown tracker alerts across Android and iOS to help keep users safeguarded from unwanted tracking. Users also have the option of running a manual scan at any time to check for any unwanted tags following them.

Moto tag is quick to set up with Google Fast Pair, and the companion app offers customization options such as naming tags, adjusting alert sounds, checking battery life, and more. Designed with real life in mind, it’s IP67-rated for water and dust resistance,³ works with most third-party accessories, and uses a replaceable CR2032 battery engineered to last up to a year on a single charge.²

With the addition of UWB, moto tag delivers one of the most comprehensive finding experiences available on Android today—combining global reach, directional precision, and user-first privacy features into one compact and versatile device.4

The moto tag is currently available in select markets across the globe. For more information on local availability, please contact your local PR representative.

Motorola’s lifestyle-tech approach and its latest collaborations turn personal tech into personal expression

In a sea of neutral colored candy bar smartphones and basic white accessories, Motorola is on a mission to redefine how you see your smartphone, both in form and function. Your smartphone is your most personal piece of technology. You use it every day and carry it with you everywhere you go. We believe your smartphone and tech accessories should go beyond utility. They should reflect who you are and give you the opportunity to express yourself through customization and design.

There was a time when cell phones came in all kinds of shapes, colors, and styles—making them just as fun as they were functional. Somewhere along the way, that energy faded, but we’re committed to bringing that sense of fun, emotional connection and individuality back to Motorola smartphones and accessories. Whether it’s through bold colors, tactile textures, or a little extra glam, we’re always exploring how we better integrate our devices into users’ personal style. With an impressive list of partners that includes Bose, Pantone, Swarovski, and Alcantara, Motorola collaborates with brands that have their fingers on the pulse of technology, lifestyle, and luxury with the goal of becoming your go-to for mobile tech that feels as stylish as it is smart.

Color – A foolproof way to make your smartphone more “you”

At a time when neutral shades like white, black, silver, and gray are the most prevalent colors for smartphones and tech accessories, picking a bright color is a surefire way to make your device stand out and feel more in line with your personal style. That’s why Motorola partnered with the Pantone Color Institute, the global authority on color. Our partnership is rooted in a shared belief: color isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s a powerful form of self-expression. By collaborating directly with Pantone’s trend and design experts, Motorola stays at the cutting edge of broader cultural and design movements, bringing meaningful, on-trend color choices to every device.

“This partnership has shaped the way we develop our devices, to resonate emotionally with consumers,” says Ruben Castano, Vice President of Brand, Design and Consumer Experience at Motorola. “We want to deliver creative and inspiring products that allow the consumer to match their smartphone to their own personal style. Pantone’s expertise in color and trend forecasting allow us to produce unique devices that stand out from the crowd.”

Beyond the surface, these color choices are intentionally designed to evoke emotion, spark creativity, and help users feel more connected to the device they use every day. Whether it’s motorola razr ultra / 60 ultra in the bold Pantone Rio Red or motorola edge 60 pro in the sophisticated Pantone Dazzling Blue, each color tells a story.

Texture – Add some feeling to your favorite device

In addition to color, exciting and unexpected textures offer another way to introduce fashion and design to a smartphone. From leather-inspired finish to canvas, Motorola designs our smartphones with a variety of materials that not only elevate the look but also the feel of our devices. Most recently, we partnered with Alcantara, a premium, Made in Italy brand and material known for its unique soft touch feel, high-performance design and commitment to sustainability. Alcantara is the latest addition to Motorola’s portfolio of unique textures, bringing a luxurious tactile experience that is both comfortable and fashionable.

“Our goal is to combine forces with brands that are leaders in their space and have similar values around putting the consumer’s needs and wants first. The partnership with Alcantara felt like a natural one due to the brand’s reputation for combining aesthetics and performance among luxury industries. This matches up perfectly with Motorola’s ethos of pairing style with function,” explains Castano. “How do we really bring these striking Pantone colors to life? We answered this question with our range of textures offered in this launch, led by Alcantara’s innovative new application of its iconic and high-performance material to our razr devices.”

Choose between the elegant Alcantara of the motorola razr ultra/razr 60 ultra, the soft luxe of the edge 60 pro, the tactile canvas of the edge 60 and more, to match the look and feel you desire.

Fashion – Elevate your tech into a designer piece

Motorola’s commitment to style isn’t new—it’s part of our DNA. Over the years, we’ve partnered with some of fashion’s most daring and iconic voices to reimagine what mobile tech can look like. Motorola has consistently blurred the lines between technology and fashion. These past collaborations showcase our belief that smartphones can be as bold, expressive, and stylish as the people who carry them.

Our latest fashion collaboration comes with the launch of our new moto buds loop. With a sleek, open-ear design, moto buds loop delivers the aesthetic you want while providing the all-day comfort you crave. For those looking to add a little extra something to their new favorite earbuds, we’ve partnered with Swarovski®, adorning the buds with dazzling crystals. Now your earbuds can catch the light like a pair of exquisite jewelry—adding a sparkle to your day and ensuring all eyes are on you.

Featuring Sound by Bose technology, moto buds loop have an expertly tuned EQ, delivering an exceptional audio experience with clarity and balance. The brilliance of Swarovski® crystals is perfectly complemented by the moto buds loop advanced technology, offering crystal-clear sound to match its stunning appearance.

Make Your Tech Speak Your Style

From Alcantara’s luxe, tactile finishes to Swarovski’s unmistakably brilliant crystals to the high-quality audio of Sound by Bose, alongside Pantone’s striking colors, each partnership represents a unique approach to blending design with daily utility. Together, these collaborations allow us to offer a smartphone experience that’s more personal, expressive and stylish than ever before.

This new generation of devices builds on Motorola’s design legacy while introducing new features that give users more ways to stand out.
