Availability

In the United States, the new razr ultra will be available for pre-order at Best Buy, Amazon.com, and motorola.com on May 7 and on-sale universally unlocked on May 15 (MSRP: $1,299.99). The device will also be available at AT&T and T-Mobile on May 15.27 In Canada, the new razr ultra will be available for pre-order on motorola.ca and Rogers on May 7 (MSRP: $1,899.99), with subsequent availability at motorola.ca on May 15 and Rogers on June 3.27

In the United States, the new razr will be available for pre-order at Best Buy, Amazon.com, and motorola.com on May 7 and on-sale universally unlocked on May 15 (MSRP: $699.99).27 The device will also be available at T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Verizon, Visible, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Google Fi Wireless, UScellular, Cox Mobile, Optimum Mobile, and Spectrum on May 15, and Boost Mobile in the coming months. In Canada, the new razr will be available for pre-order on motorola.ca and select carriers on May 7 (MSRP: $999.99), with subsequent availability at motorola.ca, carriers and retailers on May 15.27

The plastic used in the front camera bracket of razr 60 ultra/razr+ contains a minimum of 70% recycled content, consisting of 65% post-consumer recycled plastics and 5% ocean-bound Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), which has been independently verified by third parties in accordance with ISO 14021. Plus, with Smart Connect with AI, they can use a simple voice or text command like “show me this on my TV,” and stream to a TV,12 mirror to a PC or tablet13 or launch a multitasking hub.

Cinematic entertainment that runs on ample battery life 

Bigger, higher quality displays help users fully immerse themselves in their passion projects, giving them more space to work their magic. That’s why the edge 60 family features a 6.7” pOLED quad-curved display, which is Motorola’s brightest, most vibrant display, making content pop and details dazzle. Ever feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything you want to do? Us too. If you want new party planning ideas, remember what your best friend wants for their birthday or even bring some extra laughs to your group chat, you’re in the right place. 

We created moto ai1 to do just that. It’s not just an app or a chat function; it’s an intuitive companion that makes it easy to tackle life’s tasks, take post-worthy photos, turn creative blocks into light-bulb moments and make the day-to-day more fun. 

OK, cool. So, how do I access moto ai?

We knew you’d ask that. And there’s more than one right answer. You can unlock moto ai in multiple ways:

  1. Click the floating icon, aka the moto ai logo, on the home screen.
  2. Swipe up for the app tray and search to find anything—text messages, apps, Internet results—you name it. 
  3. Press the dedicated AI key or double press the power key, and get AI at your fingertips—literally.
  4. Pull up the moto ai app as a quick starting point.

What can I do with moto ai?

Let’s start with Catch me up.2,3 Say you’re in a workout class and leave your phone in the locker. But when you come back, you’re flooded with texts and pings. Instead of sorting through, you can launch moto ai, and Catch me up will summarize your missed notifications2,3 and take quick actions right from there—no endless scrolling needed. 

Later that day, you meet up with some friends and start talking about a birthday party this weekend. Everyone’s bringing something, and you want to make sure you do, too. Pull up moto ai, and select “Pay attention.” It records, transcribes, and summarizes the conversation, so you can be present in the moment. And more importantly, when you’re shopping later that week, you can easily recall what you need to grab from the store and bring. 

You’re back at home, hunting for gift ideas. Instead of taking random screenshots without context, you can use Remember this—a feature that enriches your screenshots, photos, or even text with helpful insights. Later, you can simply ask to recall the details, and they’re right there when you need them.

When you’re ready to shop online, you can prompt moto ai to remind you, “What did I want to buy for Angelina’s birthday?” or simply glance at the external display of your motorola razr when it’s in stand mode on your desk, and ask moto ai aloud to surface what you’re looking for. Look and Talk will surface what you saved without you having to search multiple apps.

How about when I need information? What then?

We were also thinking about your next move. When prompted, moto ai analyzes your screen and offers tailored suggestions for actions you can take next in real-time. So, when you’re making a pizza for the party but want to slightly adjust the recipe you’re reading, just click Explore with Perplexity to learn more. It researches on your behalf, so you don’t even have to switch apps.

Now that your questions are answered and the pizza’s in the oven, you can text the group chat back; moto ai suggests replying with a sticker. You can also create your own avatar or bring a sketch to life using Image Studio4 to keep the group chat entertained.

It’s finally party time. Set the scene with Playlist Studio, which generates a themed playlist based on your mood.5 Just type something like, “Pizza party Y2K jams,” and you’re ready for a fun night.

You mentioned I can get post-worthy photos with moto ai. How?

With a twist of your wrist, you can take fabulous photos without any extra work as moto ai works behind the scenes with the Photo Enhancement Engine. And thanks to Auto Smile Capture6 and Group Shot,7 snapping a perfect photo is easy and instant. These experiences ensure that people are smiling with their eyes open, so everyone looks their best.

If you want your photos to have a distinct look, you can turn on Signature Style, a preset tuned by AI and professional photographers, so all of your images have the same aesthetic. You can also customize your food, portrait, or landscape pictures by adjusting the color and lighting; moto ai will learn your preferences, and add that signature style to those photos moving forward.

moto ai launches new experiences and partnerships with AI leaders, giving users choice

  • With the release of the new razr and edge families, Motorola is introducing four new moto ai1 features that transform daily interactions: Next Move, Playlist Studio, Image Studio and Look and Talk.
  • Motorola partnered with AI industry leaders like Google, Meta, Microsoft and Perplexity to develop integrated features and provide users choice in their preferred agent.
  • Also included in the launch are AI-powered photography enhancements and updates to previous moto ai advanced features.

For years, Artificial Intelligence has been central to Motorola’s innovation, enhancing camera, battery, display, and device responsiveness. But AI continues to evolve. Going beyond device specs, Motorola is shaping moto ai1 into a proactive, intuitive companion with the new motorola razr and edge families.

Motorola’s beta program insights influenced the development of moto ai’s most compelling features yet—transforming daily interactions while empowering consumers to choose the AI tools they prefer. To make this process seamless, Motorola is integrating with top industry leaders like Google, Meta, Microsoft and Perplexity for enhanced assistance, control, and access to powerful tools—boosting productivity, creativity, and everyday convenience.

Magical features seamlessly integrated for easy access

Earlier this year, Motorola launched its first moto ai beta program to test and grow a few core advanced features: Catch me up2,3 prompts, Pay attention, and Remember this. Thousands of global users participated, highlighting how the features are practical and useful, but they also wanted more guidance on matching the right features with the right moments. To address this, Motorola enhanced these initial prompts and features and developed new experiences that tap into AI’s full potential. And all of them will be available on the latest generation of razr and edge devices.

With moto ai’s new Next Move experience, users can now receive tailored recommendations based on what’s on their screen. Whether it’s a recipe or travel plans, moto ai provides next step suggestions for them to explore, ideal for beginners and AI enthusiasts alike who want to learn what AI can do for them. 

To accompany their activities, users can turn to Playlist Studio to set the tone for the day. It uses on-screen content or a prompt within the moto ai app to curate a perfect playlist.4 And consumers can make it highly specific. For example, if someone wants to make their homemade dinner feel more special, they can say, “Pizza night Y2K jams,” and get a list of songs based on that mood or theme.

And Image Studio5 helps bring fresh entertainment to group chats and social media. It uses generative AI creation and editing capabilities to turn ideas into images, avatars, stickers, and wallpapers. 

Plus, for the first time on a smartphone, Perplexity’s AI-enhanced search is integrated directly within moto ai. Whether users are viewing upcoming concert dates or researching their next vacation destination, moto ai offers them the choice to “Explore with Perplexity.” When doing so, they can dive even deeper into a topic, using Perplexity’s powerful search functionalities to connect the dots. And for additional discovery and advanced features, Motorola smartphone users will receive three free months of Perplexity Pro.6 Motorola’s partnership represents Perplexity’s first and deepest smartphone integration with the Perplexity Assistant also optimized to work with the external display on razr phones.

Hands-free access for effortless support

For razr 60 ultra/razr ultra users, they can unlock moto ai’s Look and Talk with a simple glance. Thanks to the advanced camera sensor and the devices’ unique form factor, users can place razr in stand or tent mode, look at the screen, and get immediate assistance—no commands or taps required. They can even use their voice for quick questions and receive audible responses, choose to catch up on missed notifications, or ask moto ai to transcribe and summarize conversations. 

Memories and new ideas on demand

When helping a friend avoid tourist traps on vacation, new razr family users in the U.S. can turn to Gemini. Gemini can make sharing recommendations with a friend really easy by connecting to one’s Google Photos app. All they have to do is say something like, “My friend is visiting Barcelona. Look up where I went while I was there from my Photos, and create a sample itinerary.” Gemini will then scan their Google Photos library, analyze the pictures they took while there, understand the context and location and prepare a custom itinerary to text to a friend. And the best part, on the razr devices, they can do this all without even having to flip open the device; razr is the first flip phone where Google Photos connected to Gemini is accessible from the external display. 

This new experience builds on Motorola’s deep integration with Google, which includes making Gemini and Gemini Live available on all devices, including right from razr’s external display, for creative planning and problem solving. Plus, eligible purchasers of a new Motorola device will get three months of Google One AI Premium,8 which includes access to Gemini Advanced, NotebookLM Plus, and Gemini in Google apps to create, work, and study smarter. With AI Premium, users can unlock the best of Google AI, priority access to Gemini’s newest features, and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost.8

Content sharing across the device ecosystem

Users can also take advantage of the device ecosystem and utilize Smart Connect with AI, which was announced earlier in the year. A simple natural language voice or text command like, “show me Photos on my TV,” seamlessly connects users’ ecosystem of devices, allowing them to stream an app to a larger display,9 access files across devices, mirror their phone to a PC or tablet,10 or activate a hub view for multitasking. Plus, Smart Connect is available in the Meta Horizon Store, so Meta Quest users can tap into their messages, favorite apps and more, right from their headset.

Accessible from anywhere

As learned from beta feedback, Motorola is making it even easier to access moto ai features. On the razr 60 ultra/razr ultra and the edge 60 pro, users can take advantage of the new AI key to launch moto ai from any screen. They can also tap the floating icon or use smart search in the app tray. 

Plus, new to these devices, users will also be able to access Microsoft Copilot directly via Moto ai  – bringing Copilot experiences to Motorola phones in addition to Lenovo’s existing wide range of Copilot+ PCs. Copilot is a true AI companion, and through any of the moto ai ingress points, you can “Ask Copilot” and get quick answers, a second opinion, brainstorm ideas or just vent.

Photo enhancements and refined feature sets 

Aside from these new capabilities, Motorola is offering additional moto ai enhancements specifically geared toward photography lovers. Users of the new razr and edge devices will be able to turn to:

  • Signature Style, which uses AI to automatically tune images, adjusting color, lighting, and tone based on the scene, so users don’t need to manually edit. For those who want more editing control, they can personalize the style for food, portraits, or landscapes. For everything else, smart adjustments happen behind the scenes.
  • Group Shot,11 which uses AI to blend multiple shots and create an image where everyone’s eyes are open.  

Initial moto ai advanced prompts and features have also evolved. Catch me up is now powered by Meta’s industry-leading open-source model, Llama, the first time it’s ever been integrated on a smartphone, allowing users to get notification summaries even while offline. Catch me up also now includes additional third party support and quick actions, which allows users to respond directly to missed calls and messages. Pay attention enhances transcription with speaker labels, transcription, UI and UX improvements.

Let your ideas flow like never before with an enhanced built-in stylus, which writes naturally and responds instantly while jotting notes, sketching ideas, navigating apps, and more. Plus, with 6.4x improved responsiveness compared to the previous generation,1 every interaction is smoother and more intuitive than before.

The built-in stylus also elevates creative experiences like Sketch to Image and Google’s Circle to Search. Sketch to Image uses AI to bring consumers’ drawings to life within Moto Note, Motorola’s note-taking app. Circle to Search allows users to instantly get more information about what’s on their screen without having to switch apps. This can be done by circling, highlighting, or tapping text or images with your finger or with the stylus pen for pinpoint precision. 

Striking design with advanced protection

The new moto g stylus is prepared to tackle every situation in style, thanks to expertly curated colors from Pantone® like Gibraltar Sea and Surf the Web as well as a premium leather inspired finish. When users are creating content while on the move, they’ll have peace of mind knowing their device is able to withstand the elements with IP68 water protection2 and MIL-STD-810H certification.3 These qualifications mean that the new moto g stylus is not only protected from dust, spills, and rain but also falls from nearly 1.5 meters3 and total submersion in nearly 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.2

The device’s durable design also helps protect its 6.7” Super HD (1220p) pOLED display, which features an up to 120Hz refresh rate4 for a fluid experience and a max brightness of up to 3000 nits for increased visibility on the sunniest of days. This impressive display is complemented by stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos®. Whether enjoyed over headphones or the device’s speakers, Dolby Atmos provides an immersive sound experience that reveals greater depth, clarity, and details across users’ favorite entertainment.

From everyday moments to stunning masterpieces

Content creators will appreciate the enhancements made to the new moto g stylus’ 50MP camera system. Notably, the device is the first in the moto g stylus series to feature a SonyTM LYTIA 700C sensor, which works alongside Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to bring greater clarity and lighting to photos captured in low-light environments.

Working behind the scenes, moto ai uses the Photo Enhancement Engine to automatically analyze multiple frames, blend exposures, and preserve rich colors and subtle details to help consumers capture content like a professional, regardless of the lighting. For those who would rather do their own editing, the device’s built-in-stylus is the perfect tool for fine-tuning images with Google Photos5 AI features. 

To provide content creators with different perspectives, a 13MP ultrawide lens is integrated with a macro lens to embody two points of view, allowing users to fit more within their shot or get closer to their subject. Plus, users can turn to the device’s 32MP front camera to capture selfies in stunning clarity.

Built to handle any creative vision

Whether sketching images, watching movies, playing games, or shooting content, users can rest assured that their device has the battery and storage to keep up. The new moto g stylus provides over 40 hours of power6 on a single charge, thanks to its 5000 mAh battery. When it comes time to fuel up, the device supports 68W TurboPower charging7 to provide power for the day in just 15 minutes.6,7 Alternatively, users also have the option to recharge with 15W wireless charging.8 

Powered by the Snapdragon® 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform chipset and 8GB of RAM9, the new moto g stylus is designed to support your creativity and productivity. The device offers up to 256GB of storage9,10 to meet the demands of creative projects and also utilizes RAM Boost11 to help users open apps faster and keep more apps running simultaneously.

Out of the box protection and personalization

The new moto g stylus launches with Android 15, bringing users the latest security features right out of the box. Android 15 enhancements include new security warnings, streamlined setup screens, and more. 

Beyond the core Android updates, the device also features advanced security software like Moto Secure and ThinkShield, plus connectivity and personalization features such as Hello UX and audio sharing.

In the United States, the new moto g stylus-2025 will be available universally unlocked at Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, and motorola.com on April 17, with subsequent availability at additional national retailers in the coming months (MSRP: $399.99).12 The device will also be available at Metro by T-Mobile, Verizon, Visible, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, AT&T, Cricket, Spectrum Mobile, Consumer Cellular, UScellular, Xfinity Mobile, Google Fi Wireless, Optimum Mobile, and Boost Mobile in the coming months.

Smart Connect is back with new moto ai features

Consumers need their devices to speak to each other in an intuitive way, so they can get the most out of their day. Last year, Motorola and Lenovo established a unified digital ecosystem to create a seamless, multi-device experience with Smart Connect. More than 9 million monthly users incorporate Smart Connect into their routine, leaning on core features like Miracast display connectivity, Smart Clipboard, and App Streaming to get the most out of their content and boost their efficiency. Today, Smart Connect is back with new updates and AI features to make processes even smoother.

Uninterrupted flow powered by moto ai

Since the beginning, Smart Connect has enabled fluid cross device integration and file management. Now, moto ai is elevating these experiences for select devices. So, when users are wanting to squeeze in a quick presentation rehearsal while traveling, they can trigger moto ai to get what they need. With a simple voice or text command, they can cast their phone’s content to the TV1 or extend it to their PC or tablet.2 This way, users can enjoy multi-device productivity, entertainment and connectivity without having to lift a finger.

With AI Search, consumers can use natural language to resurface documents like a bank statement, rental agreement, or hotel bill stored on the Lenovo YOGA Tab Plus (16GB) tablet. Say a user is returning from a weeklong business trip and needs to submit their expense report. They can forget about manually sorting through various folders or files. Instead, they simply ask Smart Connect to “grab my restaurant receipts” in a natural way, as if they were speaking to a friend. Smart Connect retrieves the information in seconds, saving consumers time and energy. 

All gadgets at a glance with expanded device compatibility

Users can also turn to the new, customizable dashboard that shows them all their compatible devices, including their moto tag, moto buds and PC, in one place. This makes it even easier to manage, add or disconnect devices and check battery life. Consumers can leave the house feeling confident, knowing they have what they need. Plus, the latest update offers third-party integration, giving more Android users the freedom to experience select Smart Connect features and continuous workflow.

Availability

The latest Smart Connect will be available in the coming weeks on any Windows PC (10 or later) through the Microsoft store, and on select Lenovo tablets and Motorola devices through the Google Play Store.

Unlock the Future: BMW Digital Key Now Available on motorola edge 50 ultra and motorola razr 50 ultra/motorola razr+

We’re excited to announce that BMW’s digital car key feature is now available on two of Motorola’s most advanced devices: the motorola edge 50 ultra and motorola razr 50 ultra/motorola razr+. Starting today, users of these devices can activate the BMW Digital Key, enabling them to unlock and start their vehicle with just a tap thanks to NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.

With this feature, users can simply tap their phone to the door handle to unlock their BMW and place it inside the vehicle’s charging tray to start the car. Additionally, the digital car key allows users to share access with friends and family—including iPhone users—giving them the ability to unlock and turn on the car as well with seamless functionality across devices. 

Through the recent Android 15 update, motorola edge 50 ultra users in most markets1 now have access to even more advanced capabilities with the BMW Digital Key Plus. This feature utilizes ultra-wideband (UWB) technology for a hands-free, truly convenient experience. With BMW Digital Key Plus, the phone’s UWB proximity detection allows the car to automatically unlock as you approach. Users can opt in to additional security measures, like turning off passive entry or requiring the phone be unlocked before the keys can be used.2

With this integration, the motorola edge 50 ultra and motorola razr 50 ultra/motorola razr+ become the ultimate keys to unlocking a smarter, more convenient driving experience.

The new moto g and moto g power come with Android 15 out of the box, making the devices more personal, private, and user-friendly. Android 15 includes new setup screens, audio sharing, enhanced accessibility, new security warnings, and more.

These devices also deliver a suite of advanced software features that enhance security, connectivity, and individuality. Features include Moto Secure, Family Space, and Hello UX on both devices, with the addition of Smart Connect on the new moto g power.
